In this Dirty Harry spoof, Inspector Sledge Hammer, a renegade cop who has a flare for overkill, talks to his gun like it's a person, fires warning shots at jaywalkers, and has a bumper sticker that says, "I ♥ violence," runs amok in San Francisco, frustrating his perpetually angry boss, Captain Trunk, while his partner, Doreau, tries to keep him from getting into too much trouble.

Sad Singing Telegram: Episode 2, "Hammer Gets Nailed" (1986). After Sledge puts a reporter in the hospital, he sends a singing telegram to apologize for causing him to fall off a ledge in a speeding car.
Amish Paradise: Episode 3, "Witless" (1986). There's a price on Hammer's head, so he hides out with some fake Amish people called "Maninotes."
Hostage Situation: Episode 4, "Dori Day Afternoon" (1986). While Sledge and Dori are in a bank trying to find out why Sledge can't get cash from the ATM, a pair of armed bank robbers come in and hold everyone hostage.
Game Show: Episode 11, "To Live and Die on TV" (1986). After a winning contestant on a popular game show, "The Million Dollar Question," is mysteriously killed, Sledge becomes a contestant on the show to try to track down the killer.
Rorschach Test: Episode 15, "Haven't Gun, Will Travel" (1987). A crime boss is tired of Sledge foiling all his evil schemes, so he devises a plan to plant a fake police psychologist and find a way to stop him. The fake doc starts his analysis by showing Sledge some inkblots, most of which he identifies as extremely violent scenes.
Murphy Bed: Episode 17, "Brother, Can You Spare a Crime?" (1987). Sledge's apartment has a Murphy bed, and he's seen opening it for the first time in this episode.
See You in Court: Episode 21, "Jagged Sledge" (1987). Sledge is on trial for murder, and even his attorney thinks he's guilty, so he fires him and represents himself in court.
Season 2
Obsession: Episode 4, "Wild About Hammer" (1987). A young uniformed police officer sees Sledge apprehend some suspects and instantly becomes obsessed with him. She goes to his house to cook him dinner, and refuses to leave, and he tries to use force to get her out, she shoots at him and grazes his head.
Desperate Telethon: Episode 10, "Hammeroid" (1987). When the so-called "Hooded Hood" robs the bank that held the police pension fund, Sledge comes up with an idea to get the money back and lure the Hood into a trap: hold a telethon. The performances consist of Captain Trunk singing "Havah Nagila" and Office Majoy doing bird calls.
Do the Robot: Episode 10, "Hammeroid" (1987). The "Hooded Hood," a thief who has been terrorizing the city, turns out to be a robot called BORC, and it leads Sledge and Doreau to a company called "Androids R Us," and a renegade scientist bend on building an android army to rule the world.
Quarantine: Episode 13, "They Call Me Mr. Trunk" (1987). Sledge arrests a man with an experimental government virus, and the whole station gets quarantined.
Magic Fingers: Episode 18, "It Happened What Night?" (1988). Sledge and Doreau go under cover as newlyweds in a hotel bridal suite, and some spike champagne makes them both act loopy, including lying on the bed together and turning on the magic fingers.
Bachelor Party Gone Wrong: Episode 19, "Here's to You, Mrs. Hammer" (1988). Sledge's best friend, Scott, is marrying Sledge's ex-wife, and Sledge is bitter about it, so he ruins Scott's bachelor party by arresting everyone there.
