The gang is suspected of having contracted a highly contagious illness, and they have to be quarantined.

- Barney Miller: Season 3, episodes 2-3, "Quarantine" (1976). When a world traveller with an unknown illness collapses in the squad room, the health department puts it under quarantine, and everyone in the building has to stay there overnight with no air conditioning during a heat wave.
- Are You Being Served?: Season 8, episode 1, "Is It Catching?" (1981). Mr. Humphries contracts a contagious disease from shellfish, and the whole floor has to be quarantined.
- The Greatest American Hero: Season 2, episode 8, "Plague" (1982). While on a case, Bill, Ralph, Pam, and Mr. Carlisle, are exposed to a highly contagious and deadly disease, so when the case is over, all four of them have to be quarantined in a designated wing of the hospital while they wait to see if any symptoms manifest. Fortunately, they're all symptom-free, and Ralph and Pam enjoy the time off together, but Bill is aggravated because he feels he has to let Carlisle win at every board game they play together.
- Sledge Hammer!: Season 2, episode 13, "They Call Me Mr. Trunk" (1987). Sledge arrests a man with an experimental government virus, and the whole station gets quarantined.
- Night Court: Season 8, episodes 6-7, "Crossroads" (1990). When a defendant accidentally drops a vial of what he says might be a deadly virus, the courtroom is quarantined with everyone inside.
