Appearances
- Gilligan's Island: Season 3, episode 4, "The Producer" (1966). To get a Broadway producer to help them get off the island, the castaways write and perform a musical based on William Shakespeare's Hamlet.
- Mr. Belvedere: Season 2, episode 22, "The Play" (1986). Mr. Belvedere steps in to direct Wesley's school musical, HMS Pinafore, when Wesley gives the previous director a nervous breakdown.
- Head of the Class: Season 2, episode 7, "That'll Be the Day" (1987). Mr. Moore is directing the school musical, Grease, and he talks all the IHP students into auditioning except Alan. After one of the actors drops out at the last minute, Alan finally decides he wants to help out and agrees to take a role in the play with his own solo.
- Curb Your Enthusiasm: Season 4, episode 10, "Opening Night" (2004). In a parody of the musical itself, Larry appears with David Schwimmer in The Producers on Broadway, and Mel Brooks and Anne Bancroft are disappointed that their plan to make the show flop by casting Larry was a disaster.
- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 4, episodes 13, "The Nightman Cometh" (2008). Charlie announces that he has written a musical called "The Nightman Cometh" about his mysterious Nightman character he often talks about, and the rest of the gang happily agrees to perform it with Charlie directing and Artemis assisting.
- Flight of the Conchords: Season 2, episode 10, "Evicted" (2009). Bret and Jemaine get evicted from their apartment because they've been paying their rent in New Zealand dollars, so Murray shows them the musical he's been secretly writing about their lives, and he decides they should put on the musical in one last ditch effort to make enough money to pay their back rent.
- GCB: Episode 8, "Pride Comes Before a Fall" (2012). To help Pastor Tudor one-up an old seminary classmate, Amanda directs the congregation in a Bible-themed musical Heather wrote in eighth grade.
