- The Dick Van Dyke Show: Season 5, episode 7, "The Great Petrie Fortune" (1965). Rob's great uncle dies and leaves a film of himself for Rob that serves as part of his will.
- WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 4, episode 8, "Jennifer and the Will" (1981). One of the rich, elderly men Jennifer dates passes away and leaves a video will designating her as the executor of his estate.
- Too Close for Comfort: Season 2, episode 7, "Where There's a Will" (1981). When he hears Muriel and Henry talk about Henry's will, Monroe offers to help Henry record a video will.
- The Nanny: Season 5, episode 19, "Immaculate Concepcion" (1998). Mr. Sheffield's father passes away and leaves a video will announcing that he's leaving the bulk of his estate to his illegitimate daughter.
- The IT Crowd: Season 2, episode 2, "Return of the Golden Child" (2007). At Denholm's funeral, the priest plays a video will he recorded with instructions for his staff. When his estranged son, Douglas, shows up, the priest reveals that Denholm recorded a second tape just for him. On the tape, Denholm tells Douglas to watch the next part alone, but he lets it play, and Denholm starts talking about financial "irregularities."
