Performance Evaluations
It's that time of year where the gang gets evaluated on how well they do their jobs. Sometimes their boss does it; sometimes their peers do it instead. Someone always gets mad; often everyone gets mad.

- Barney Miller: Season 4, episode 21, "Evaluation" (1978). Barney is evaluating the detectives of the 12th precinct, and no one can hold back their anxiety and curiosity about them. When Barney finally hands them out, everyone nitpicks what he said.
- Wings: Season 3, episode 14, "Stew in a Stew" (1992). Joe gives the staff their annual evaluations, and he has to break it to Fay that he can't give her a raise this year. Moments later, Joe and Brian are showing off their expensive new flight jackets, and Fay is so upset that she quits.
- NewsRadio: Season 3, episode 15, "Rose Bowl" (1997). Inspired by an article Lisa read in Forbes, Dave has the staff evaluate each other, and as usual, they all goof off and end up hating each other.
- Just Shoot Me!: Season 4, episode 6, "Hello Goodbye" (1999). Jack convinces Maya to do the employee performance evaluations, and when she reviews Elliot her only criticism of his work is "too many sunsets," and he loses his shit, just as Jack knew he would.
- The Office (UK): Season 2, episode 2, "Appraisals" (2002). David does the staff appraisals, and they don't go as he expected. He takes the new employees from Swindon to lunch so they can appraise him, and it devolves into awkward silence.
- The Office (US): Season 2, episode 8, "Performance Review" (2005). Michael's supposed to be doing the annual performance reviews, but he's more interested in whether or not Jan wants to be with him after their drunken make-out sessions, so asks everyone to listen to a voicemail she left him and tell him what it means, and they all tell him what he wants to hear so they can get good performance reviews.
