The gang finds out the building is on fire, but they're unable to leave for some reason.

• It's a Living: Season 1, episode 8, "Up on the Roof" (1981). The building's on fire, and the fire department is evacuating the building one floor at a time, starting at the bottom. Unfortunately, the restaurant is on the top floor, so Nancy urges the waitresses to serve slowly and try to keep the customers from leaving.
• WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 4, episode 17, "Fire" (1982). The building's on fire, the stairwell's full of smoke, and Herb and Jennifer are stuck in a stalled elevator together, so the gang tries to find a way to rescue them and get everyone out.
• Night Court: Season 6, episode 3, "Fire" (1988). When the building catches fire, the gang flees to the morgue in the basement for safety while they wait for the fire department, who might not arrive for "a few hours."
• Herman's Head: Season 3, episode 14, "Three on a Match" (1994). On a night when Louise is working late, Herman is on the roof trying to talk a man out of jumping, and Heddy and Jay are trapped in the elevator, the building catches fire.
• NewsRadio: Season 2, episode 21, "Led Zeppelin II" (1996). Dave gets a call that the building is on fire and everyone has to stay in office until the fire is out, but as usual, Bill tries to lead an uprising and gathers a group to escape the building. Meanwhile, Dave and Lisa decide to have sex in Dave's office before the fire consumes them.
