- Newhart: Season 7, episode 19, "Homes and Jo-Jo" (1989). A deceased relative leaves Darryl #2 a butler, and the butler drops surreptitious notes begging everyone else to help him get away.
- Night Court: Season 8, episode 22, "Harry's Fifteen Minutes" (1991). To replace the late Phil, Dan hires an English "valet" to do his dirty work.
- NewsRadio: Season 4, episode 9, "The Secret of Management" (1998). Bill hires a butler named Cadbury to wait on him at the office, which annoys the rest of the staff.
- Frasier: Season 8, episode 5, "Taking Liberties" (2000). Now that Daphne is dating Niles, Frasier thinks he needs to hire a housekeeper, and when he hears that a famous colonel passed away, leaving his butler unemployed, Frasier jumps at the chance to hire him.
