Crude Craft

A character makes some kind of craft project and gives it to a friend or family member, and the recipient of the craft hates it but doesn't want to hurt the giver's feelings.

• The Bob Newhart Show: Season 3, episode 11, "An American Family" (1974). Jerry makes Carol a brooch out of one of his patient's old braces. Carol hates it but wears it anyway to make Jerry happy.
• Newhart: Season 5, episode 2, "Camp Stephanie" (1986). George carves a miniature Mount Rushmore with the faces of his friends and gives it to Dick and Joanna to display in the inn, but they try to hide it because they think it's ugly.
• Just Shoot Me!: Season 2, episode 15, "Nina in the Cantina" (1998). Jack goes to a paint-your-own pottery place and paints an eye sore of a vase, which he gives to Finch and insists he display it prominently on his desk, but Finch hates it and keeps coming up with sneaky ways to get rid of it.
