The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis
Appearances
- The Many Loves of Dobie Gillis: Season 2, episode 4, "Dobie Goes Beatnik" (1960). Dobie and Maynard pose as each other to impress the head of the Bisons for Mr. Gillis.
- Gilligan's Island: Season 3, episode 24, "The Second Ginger Grant" (1967). After falling and hitting her head, Mary Ann thinks she's Ginger. She acts, talks, dresses, and styles her hair like Ginger and refuses to believe she's actually Mary Ann. The Professor determines that the best way to help Mary Ann snap out of it is to have Ginger pose as Mary Ann, so the other castaways give Ginger a makeover and coach her to act like Mary Ann.
- WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 4, episode 6, "Who's on First?" (1981). While Herb is in the hospital, Mr. Carlson takes over sales. He meets with one of Herb's clients, who assumes he's Herb and wants to confirm that Mr. Carlson is as stupid as Herb told him, so Mr. Carlson plays along and pretends to be Herb, and Les pretends to be Mr. Carlson.
- The Young Ones: Season 2, episode 1, "Bambi" (1984). The gang wakes up one morning wearing each other's clothes and taking on each other's personalities: Rick is now Vyvyan, Vyvyan is Mike, Mike is Neil, and Neil is Rick.
- Head of the Class: Season 2, episode 12, "Will the Real Arvid Engen Please Stand Up?" (1988). Arvid asks Eric to pretend to be him when his pen pal, Nancy, comes to meet him because he sent her a picture of Eric instead of himself. When a man comes to interview Eric for a summer writer's workshop, Arvid pretends to be him.
- The Nanny: Season 1, episode 6, "The Butler, the Husband, the Wife and Her Mother" (1993). When out-of-town relatives visit Fran's mother, she tells them Fran is married to Mr. Sheffield, and they want to meet him. Fran is anxious to impress them, so she convinces Niles to pretend to be Mr. Sheffield. Just then, the Professional Butler's Association shows up to observe Niles for possible membership just moments before Mr. Sheffield arrives home early, leading to a situation where Mr. Sheffield has to pretend to be Niles's butler.
- Wings: Season 4, episode 2, "The Fortune Cookie" (1992). Brian convinces Joe to pretend he was injured in their recent plane crash to get more money from the insurance company, but Joe chickens out at the last minute, so they switch places, and Brian pretends to be the injured Joe while Joe pretends to be Brian.
