- NewsRadio: Season 3, episode 19, "Office Feud" (1997). Bill has started reading ads for "Rocket Fuel" malt liquor on the air, and Catherine is disgusted by the fake "street" language he's using. So she teaches him a lesson by getting him drunk on Rocket Fuel and teaching him some ridiculous new street slang, which gets him fired from the Rocket Fuel gig.
- Just Shoot Me!: Season 2, episode 2, "The Assistant" (1997). When Nina starts using words from her word-a-day calendar, Elliot and Finch decide to play a prank on her by replacing the real words with made-up ones, but their prank backfires when she's a guest on a radio show, and the host is so smitten with her that he ignores the fake words.
- The Office (US): Season 2, episode 22, "Casino Night" (2006). Darryl confesses to the camera that he taught Michael some fake slang to "help with his interracial conversations," such as "fleece it out," "going mach five," and "dinkin' flicka."
- The Goldbergs: Season 1, episode 17, "Lame Gretzky" (2014). When Beverly finds out that Erica's test SAT scores are high enough for her to get into Stanford, she tries to sabotage her so she won't move across the country by giving her flashcards for fake vocabulary words, but it doesn't take long for Erica to catch on.
