Mounting the Hustings
One or more characters campaign for a political candidate. Sometimes they campaign for opposing candidates, or they find out their candidate of choice isn't what they seem.
The Addams Family

- The Patty Duke Show: Season 2, episode 7, "Patty, the People's Voice" (1964). Patty and Cathy decide to campaign for a local candidate for congress and discover they actually prefer his opponent.
- The Addams Family: Season 1, episode 4, "Gomez, the Politician" (1964). Gomez throws his support (and cash) behind a candidate for city council, but only if he can decide how the money is spent.
- Good Times: Season 3, episode 9, "The Politicians" (1975). Florida and James are campaigning for opposing candidates for alderman.
- What's Happening!!: Season 2, episode 6, "If I'm Elected" (1977). Dwayne's dad is running for city council, and Dwayne and his friends are helping out with his campaign.
- Too Close for Comfort: Season 5, episode 16, "Off and Running" (1985). Muriel and Sara volunteer for Margaret Sinclair, a candidate running for the state legislature, and they hold a fundraising party at the Rush home, where Henry makes the mistake of posing for a photo with Sinclair while holding his Cosmic Cow puppet.
- Cheers: Season 4, episode 24, "Strange Bedfellows: Part 1" (1986). When a smooth-talking city councilwoman comes to the bar, Diane decides to campaign for her opponent, and Frasier volunteers to help because he's still carrying a torch for Diane.
- The Golden Girls: Season 3, episode 7, "Strange Bedfellows" (1987). The gang campaigns for a city council candidate that isn't doing well in the polls, but when the rumor goes around that he slept with Blanche, he suddenly becomes more popular.
- It's a Living: Season 5, episode 22, "Ginger and the Senator" (1988). Ginger has been campaigning for a senator, and a newspaper reporter prints a false story about the senator having an affair with her.
- Dream On: Season 3, episode 1, "And Bimbo Was His Name-o" (1992). An attractive woman buys Martin a drink in a bar, they hit it off, and they go back to his place, but she runs out early the next morning and disappears. When Martin watches the news, he realizes he just slept with a congressman's wife, and when the press gets word of it, it blows up into a huge scandal.
- Frasier: Season 2, episode 7, "The Candidate" (1994). Martin appears in two commercials for a political candidate, so Frasier and Niles decide to campaign for his opponent.
- Curb Your Enthusiasm: Season 11, episode 7, "Irma Kostroski" (2021). Susie campaigns for Jimmy Mayhew, a candidate for mayor or Santa Monica, and she tries to convince Larry to canvass for him. At first, Larry refuses, but then he finds out that the city council can repeal ordinances, like the one that requires him to have a fence around his pool, and he befriends a councilwoman, who takes him canvassing with her.
