Appearances

• The Odd Couple: Season 1, episode 24, "Trapped" (1971). Oscar forgets about Gloria's women's group's Halloween party and has to find a costume at the last minute, so Felix suggests a suit of armor he saw in the basement of their apartment building. Before they leave for the party, Oscar, Felix, and Nancy go down to the basement to find the suit of armor and accidentally get locked in.
• The Bob Newhart Show: Season 5, episode 2, "Caged Fury" (1976). While looking for supplies for their Independence Day party, Bob and Emily accidentally lock themselves in their storage room.
• The Nanny: Season 2, episode 10, "The Whine Cellar" (1994). CC accidentally locks her and Fran in the Sheffields' wine cellar when she pulls off the doorknob. Fran has the brilliant idea of cutting the wires in what she thinks is the alarm system but turns out to be the ventilation system.
• Wings: Season 8, episode 11, "All About Christmas Eve" (1996). It's Christmas Eve, and Helen, Fay, and Casey accidentally lock themselves in the basement of the department store where Casey is working a seasonal job as an elf.
• 3rd Rock from the Sun: Season 1, episode 5, "Dick, Smoker" (1996). Dick takes up smoking, and while looking for a place to smoke at a dentist's office, he accidentally locks himself in a stairwell just as the building is closing.
• The Nanny: Season 6, episode 2, "Fran Gets Shushed" (1998). Fran follows Mr. Sheffield into the bathroom at a business party, and Mr. Sheffield asks her to leave so he can use the toilet. When Fran reaches for the doorknob, it comes off in her hand, trapping them in the bathroom.
• Spin City: Season 1, episode 18, "Snowbound" (1997). Carter and Stuart go the boiler room to try to adjust the heat, and Stuart accidentally pulls ou the stopper holding the door open, locking them both inside.
• 3rd Rock from the Sun: Season 3, episode 19, "Stuck with Dick" (1998). When Dick delays Mary at the library, they end up staying until after closing time and getting locked in, and the library is closed the next day.
• Malcolm in the Middle: Season 3, episode 5, "Charity" (2001). Francis and Eric get into the locked pantry while Lavernia is out by putting a piece of tape over the lock, but Francis stupidly removes the tape, and when the door closes, they both get locked in for the night, so they make the best of it by eating all the food and drinking all the alcohol.
• My Name is Earl: Season 1, episode 13, "Stole P's HD Cart" (2006). To make up for Ralph burning down Pops's hot dog cart, Earl gets the old gang back together to steal $10,000 worth of stuff from Winky Dinky Dogs, the company that paid Ralph to do it. Ralph decides they should steal a giant copy machine so he can sell it to a guy who prints counterfeit money, but when the gang tries to get it out of the copy room, it gets wedged in the door, trapping them all inside.
• Still Game: Season 6, episode 5, "Hyper" (2007). Everyone in town is shopping at the new superstore, Hyperdale's, and it's putting Navid out of business. Jack, Victor, Winston, and Tam discover Navid in a tent in the store with a bottle of gasoline, planning to burn the place down, and while they're talking him out of it, the store closes, locking all five of them inside.
• The Office (US): Season 4, episode 11, "Night Out" (2008). While Michael is out with Dwight and Ryan, the rest of the gang accidentally get locked in the parking lot, and Dwight has the only key. Jim calls Hank, the security guard, but Hank doesn't like Jim, so he takes his time getting there. Meanwhile, the cleaning staff shows up and opens the gate.
• It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 5, episode 6, "The World Series Defense" (2009). While trying to sneak into Citizens Bank Park to see the World Series, the gang wanders into a linen closet below a hotel and gets locked inside for six days.
• Peep Show: Season 7, episode 4, "Nether Zone" (2010). Jeremy is in Zahra's apartment while no one's home, and Mark meets him there. When they get to the front door of the building, they discover it's been double-locked, and they can't get out. They find Zahra's spare key and go back into her apartment, but Ben is on his way home, and he won't be pleased to find them there, sot they hide in the bathroom and end up getting trapped in the shower.
• Community: Season 2, episode 4, "Basic Rocket Science" (2010). Greendale gets ahold of an old space simulator from the county museum, and the dean tasks the gang with cleaning it, but of course, they have to check out the inside first. Pierce, who's "a little claustrophobic," accidentally closes the door and starts the simulation, trapping them all inside.
• Life's Too Short Episode 1.4, (2011). While touring a flat, Warwick has to use the bathroom, but the bathroom door has an unusually high doorknob that he can't reach, so when Cheryl closes the door behind her, she inadvertently traps Warwick in the bathroom. While Cheryl and the real estate agent are outside, Warwick takes off his shoes, jacket, and pants to throw at the window because it's took high for him to see through it.
