The Piano Movers
The gang tries to move a piano, and it doesn't go well. Usually, it gets stuck, and sometimes, it rolls away.
Sanford and Son
Appearances
- Sanford and Son: Season 1, episode 14, "The Piano Movers" (1972). A man offers Lamont a free piano if he'll move it out of his apartment, so Lamont and Fred attempt to move it, but when it gets stuck in the doorway, it proves to be more trouble than it's worth.
- WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 3, episode 2, "Jennifer Moves" (1980). The gang helps Jennifer move into an old house she just bought, and Herb is assigned to move her piano. Of course, Herb can't move the piano by himself, but no one else will help him. Herb finally gets a local to help him, and they get the piano as far as the driveway before it rolls down the street. Herb chases it for a few blocks, but because Jennifer's house is on an incline, it picks up speed, and he loses it.
- Too Close for Comfort: Season 2, episode 22, "Don't Shoot the Piano Movers" (1982). April's father wants to give her his old piano, and she insists on having it shipped to her at the Rush home, and Monroe enlists his friend, Moose, to help move it. Of course, piano gets stuck in the stairwell, blocking the door to Henry and Muriel's apartment, so when a very pregnant Muriel goes into labor, Henry has to get a window washer to take her down to the street so she can get to the hospital. Eventually, Monroe and Moose get the piano free, and it rolls right into the hotel across the street.
- Buffalo Bill: Season 1, episode 3, "Woody Quits" (1983). After Woody quits, Newdell takes over temporarily as stage manager, and because he doesn't know about the special wide door just for this explicit purpose, he tries to bring a piano in through the regular stage door, and it gets stuck.
