- The Mary Tyler Moore Show: Season 4, episode 2, "Angels in the Snow" (1973). Mary dates a 25-year-old man and feels self conscious about their age difference, so she shops for younger-looking clothes at a tragically hip store called "Shot Down Over Ecuador Junior."
- The Bob Newhart Show: Season 2, episode 17, "The Modernization of Emily" (1974). When Emily runs into an old student of hers who recently graduated from high school, her self esteem takes a hit, and Bob's anniversary gift of a "Blenderizer" is the last straw. She disappears for a day and comes back with hair extensions and a new, hip wardrobe made up of sequins and faded denim.
- The Nanny: Season 3, episode 23, "That's Midlife" (1996). Mr. Sheffield is feeling old, so he starts trying to look and act young. He dies the gray streak in his hair, dons a leather jacket, and uses slang.
- 3rd Rock from the Sun: Season 1, episode 3, "Dick's First Birthday" (1996). When Dick finds out that humans have birthdays and keep track of their ages, he starts to feel old, so he dyes his hair black and walks around in tight leather pants in a misguided attempt to look younger.
- Spin City: Season 4, episode 7 "The Great Debate" (1999). Nikki is working with the new college intern, Scott, and she falls for him right away, but he's 20 years old, and she's...not, so she starts trying to look younger by wearing trendy clothes and butterfly clips in her hair and rollerskating around the office.
- Just Shoot Me!: Season 5, episode 7, "The First Thanksgiving" (2000). Nina hears about a peer in the fashion world who got fired because her boss thought she was "old and out of touch," then notices Jack complimenting the fashion sense of a young new employee and starts to feel threatened, so she shows up to Thanksgiving at Jack's house in the Hamptons dressed in hip new clothes with a blue streak in her hair and a young punk date named Slam.
