• The Munsters: Season 1, episode 6, "Low-Cal Munster" (1964). Herman can't fit into his old Army uniform for his reunion, so Lily tells him he needs to go on a diet and sends him to the doctor.
• The Odd Couple: Season 2, episode 8, "Fat Farm" (1971). Felix keeps prodding Oscar about being out of shape, and he insists Oscar join him for a stay at his "health farm," where they're both put on ridiculously strict diets and excessive exercise regimens.
• The Bob Newhart Show: Season 2, episode 11, "Fit, Fat and Forty One" (1973). Bob's doctor gives him a hard time about being eight pounds overweight, and he puts him on an unnecessarily restrictive diet.
