• WKRP in Cincinnati: Season 4, episode 17, "Fire" (1982). When the building catches fire, Jennifer and Herb get trapped in the elevator together.
• Too Close for Comfort: Season 3, episode 10, "Pressure's Rising" (1982). When Monroe drives Henry to a physical for a new life insurance policy, they fight over the elevator buttons, and the elevator stalls, trapping them inside.
• Night Court: Season 2, episode 10, "The Blizzard" (1984). During a blizzard, the power goes out, trapping raging homophobe Dan in the elevator with a gay man who had hit on him earlier that night.
• Night Court: Season 4, episode 9, "Earthquake" (1986). Dan, Roz, and two sumo wrestlers get stuck in a stalled elevator together after a rare earthquake in Manhattan, and Dan suddenly has claustrophobia (despite having been trapped in an elevator in season 2 and showing no signs of it).
• It's a Living: Season 6, episode 16, "The Dark at the Top of the Top" (1989). During a blackout, Dot gets stuck in the elevator with Ira Baynes, the new owner of the hotel, and they fall for each other.
• Night Court: Season 7, episode 24, "The Blues of the Birth" (1990). While Christine is in labor, she gets stuck in a stalled elevator with Buddy and a standoffish stranger.
• Bob: Season 1, episode 15, "You Can't Win" (1993). Bob, Kaye, Harlan, and Shayla get stuck in a stalled elevator on their way to the "Buster" awards ceremony.
• Herman's Head: Season 3, episode 14, "Three on a Match" (1994). Electrical troubles cause Heddy and Jay to get stuck in the elevator together.
• The Nanny: Season 3, episode 7, "Oy Vey, You're Gay" (1995). When Fran finds out the love of Mr. Sheffield's life is a lesbian, Fran rushes to meet him at the Rainbow Room in her place, and she ends up getting stuck in the elevator with him.
• Frasier: Season 3, episode 7, "The Adventures of Bad boy and Dirty Girl" (1995). Frasier gets stuck in a stalled elevator with Kate, the station manager, with home he's been having secret trysts at the office, but they're trying to keep their hands off each other, which proves difficult in the confined space.
• Just Shoot Me!: Season 2, episode 5, "King Lear Jet" (1997). When Jack's broken automatic office door causes a power outage, Elliot and Nina get stuck in the elevator, and Nina has recently replaced the emergency phone with a bottle of vodka.
• Still Game: Season 5, episode 6, "The Party" (2006). Jack, Victor, Winston, and Isa get trapped in a malfunctioning elevator on the night of Hogmanay, the emergency phone is broken, and no one is around to help them except some punk Neds.
• The Office (US): Season 7, episode 1, "Nepotism" (2010). After Dwight buys the building, he becomes even more insufferable, so Pam plays a prank on him that involves Kevin sabotaging the elevator. While recording Dwight freaking out about the elevator, Pam gets trapped in the elevator with Dwight.
