- The Dick Van Dyke Show: Season 3, episode 10, "The Ballad of Betty Lou" (1963). Rob and Jerry decide to buy a boat together, but Rob is totally inept at sailing.
- The Odd Couple: Season 4, episode 6, "The New Car" (1973). Oscar wins a car in a radio trivia contest, but since Felix gave him the answers, they agree to share it.
- The Bob Newhart Show: Season 3, episode 19, "A Pound of Flesh" (1975). Jerry bugs Bob to lend him the money to buy a motorcycle, but Bob refuses, so Jerry asks Howard, promising him they can share the motorcycle. Of course, it doesn't work out that way.
- Head of the Class: Season 2, episode 13, "On the Road Again" (1988). Sarah and Darlene buy a car together so they can visit colleges on the weekends, but it keeps breaking down, and they can't afford to get it fixed, so they sell timeshares in the car to the other students in the class, but their constant arguing almost destroys their friendship.
- Still Game: Season 2, episode 4, "Brief" (2003). Victor outbids Manky Frankie for a used car, but he went higher than he could afford, so he asks Jack to go in on it, and they agree to share the car, even though Jack can't drive. Jack starts demanding that Victor drive him and the gang around, making Victor feel like Jack's chauffer.
