- Cheers: Season 4, episode 20, "Save the Last Dance for Me" (1986). The TV show, "Boston Boppers," is having a reunion with a dance contest, and Carla and Nick were two of their best dancers. Unfortunately, they can't get along long enough to enter the contest together, so Carla asks Sam to dance with her, and he turns out to be very good. Not to be outdone, Nick insists that Carla dance with him once; she does, and they win the contest.
- Night Court: Season 7, episode 7, "Auntie Maim" (1989). A radio station hosts a dance contest in the courthouse cafeteria. The contestants compete to see who can keep dancing the longest before they drop. When one man's partner passes out, he grabs Christine and dances with her.
- Dharma & Greg: Season 1, episode 21, "Spring Forward, Fall Down" (1998). When Dharma finds out about a dance contest at the club, she becomes obsessed and makes Greg practice with her constantly. The day of the contest, she decides to try some fancy moves they could never really nail, and ends up flying across the room, crushing Greg and some tables.
- 3rd Rock from the Sun: Season 5, episode 17, "Shall We Dick?" (2000). Dick, Mary, Harry, and Nina enter a dance contest, but Dick quickly discovers that Mary can't dance, so he sneakily talks Harry into staying home so he can dance with Nina instead. To everyone's surprise, Harry shows up at the contest anyway and dances with Mary.
- Malcolm in the Middle: Season 7, episode 18, "Bomb Shelter" (2006). Malcolm joins a dance class and discovers he has a knack for it. He's disappointed because his dance partner isn't all that attractive, but he starts to like her anyway and asks her out, but when he finds out she thinks he's not all that attractive either, he gets offended, and their fight ruins their performance.
- It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia: Season 3, episode 15, "The Gang Dances Their Asses Off" (2007). Charlie signs Paddy's Pub up for a dance competition and accidentally puts the bar down as the prize, so the gang has to dance their asses off to keep someone else from winning it.
- Community: Season 2, episode 2, "Accounting for Lawyers" (2010). The gang enters Greendale's "Pop and Lock" contest, and they decide to let Chang join them, but when the competition starts, the rest of the gang is involved in another caper, so Chang competes in the contest alone. He pops and locks for five hours when the gang shows up and gets them all disqualified.
