Appearances
- Taxi: Season 2, episode 21, "Alex Jumps Out of an Airplane" (1980). After ski-jumping to impress a woman while on a ski trip, Alex has a new zest for life and wants to take risks and face his fears, so he decides to jump out of a plane.
- ALF: Season 1, episode 9, "Jump" (1986). Willie regrets chickening out the one time he tried sky-diving, so he's determined to prove he can really do it.
- Cheers: Season 7, episode 8, "Jumping Jerks" (1988). Norm, Cliff, Woody, and Sam decide to go skydiving to prove they're "real men," but they all chicken out and just tell the gang at Cheers that they did it. Their lie backfires when Rebecca asks them to skydive with a big Cheers banner to advertise the bar. They're about to chicken out again when Woody declares that he can't live a lie anymore and jumps off the plane, and one-by-one, the others all follow him.
- The Golden Girls: Season 6, episode 13, "The Bloom is Off the Rose" (1991). Rose is bored with her relationship with Miles, and she wants to do something exciting with him, so she talks him into going skydiving with her. Afterwards, Miles is in the hospital and Rose is happy that she didn't jump.
- Wings: Season 2, episode 18, "Love Means Never Having to Say Geronimo" (1991). Brian is marrying a weirdo named Gwen, who insists they get married on Joe's plane and skydive after they say their vows, but they both randomly decide not to get married and just jump off the plane.
- Herman's Head: Season 1, episode 16, "How to Succeed in Business Without Really Dying" (1992). Jay talks Herman into going skydiving to impress Mr. Crawford, but he and Jay both chicken out at the last minute. Unfortunately, in a panic, Jay accidentally pushes Herman off the plane. Mr. Crawford assigns Herman a skydiving article for "Thrillseeker Magazine," and he's so impressed by Herman's work that he insists they go skydiving together again.
- Wings: Season 7, episode 24, "The Lyin' King" (1996). The gang is writing their own eulogies to inspire them to live their best lives. After Roy writes that he was "adventurous" in his, he decides to go skydiving to make it true.
- Dharma & Greg: Season 1, episode 3, "Shower the People You Love with Love" (1997). When they meet for a round of golf, Edward tells Larry he's too much of a coward to have fought in Vietnam, so Larry spends the day trying to convince him otherwise. Their argument ends with both of them in an airplane, ready to skydive, but they both chicken out and decide to back to the club and drink instead.
