A character gets justifiably angry and yells at an asshole old person, who subsequently dies, and the character feels guilty for killing them.

- Mork & Mindy: Season 1, episode 7, "To Tell the Truth" (1978). The landlord of the music store building, Mr. Wanker, has been terrorizing Mindy's family in an attempt to get them to move, and Mindy's has enough. She lets loose on the wanker, and he promptly dies of a heart attack, making Mindy feel guilty.
- The Golden Girls: Season 2, episode 4, "It's a Miserable Life" (1986). The gang attends a public hearing to save a 200-year old tree from being cut down, and Mrs. Claxton, the nasty old woman on whose property the tree is, says she hates trees and wants it cut down. Rose is insensed and yells at Mrs. Claxton to "drop dead," and she promptly does.
- It's a Living: Season 6, episode 1, "Pistol Packin' Mama" (1988). The curmudgeonly owner of the hotel dines in the restaurant, complains about everything, and verbally abuses the staff. Dot gets fed up and tells him off, after which he drops dead of a heart attack.
- Murphy Brown: Season 1, episode 19, "The Unshrinkable Murphy Brown" (1988). Murphy verbally slaughters a corrupt judge on the show, and he slumps over dead in his chair.
- Herman's Head: Season 3, episode 5, "Over Herman's Head" (1993). The old woman who lives above Herman constantly complains yells at him for making any little bit of noise, so he bangs on the ceiling with a golf club and screams at her to shut up. The next day, he finds out she dropped dead of a heart attack on the very spot where he was banging on the ceiling.
- 3rd Rock from the Sun: Season 1, episode 8, "Body & Soul & Dick" (1996). At a faculty party, Dr. Hanlin, a hated old professor known for his antagonistic attitude hits on Sally, prompting her to threaten to put his eyeballs in the bottom of a martini glass, after which he drops dead of a heart attack. Sally momentarily feels guilty until another party-goer announces that Hanlin's death was his own fault for refusing to listen to his doctor.
- Spin City: Season 1, episode 5, "The Rivals" (1996). Former mayor, Abe Garfield, has been trashing the current administration all over TV, so Mike decides to try to appease him by dedicating a fountain in his name, but the fountain turns out to be more like a birdbath, and Garfield is not pleased. Mayor Winston gets fed up with Garfield's criticism and tells him off, and Garfield drops dead.Mayor Winston is ridden with guilt and feels the need to confess that he "killed" him at a memorial. Fortunately, he sprays himself in the eyes with Binaca and gets too tearful to speak.
- Just Shoot Me!: Season 3, episode 16, "Hostess to Murder" (1999). During Maya's murder mystery party, her elderly neighbor, Professor Gladstone, keeps banging on the wall and yelling at her to keep the noise down. Maya gets fed up and yells back at him, after which he drops dead, and the party guests think it's all part of the game.
- Frasier: Season 11, episode 24, "Good Night, Seattle: Part 2" (2004). Frasier invites the gang over to tell them he's moving to San Francisco. He hands out some of his belongings to them, then while he's out of the room, they hear an answering message from a doctor that convinces them all he's about to tell them he's dying.
- Curb Your Enthusiasm: Season 7, episode 7, "The Black Swan" (2009). Larry gets frustrated with a fellow club member named Norm for golfing too slowly, so he chews him out, and they get in a shouting match. Later, in the locker room, another club member tells Larry that Norm had a heart attack and passed away because Larry yelled at him.
