Episode Tropes
Season 1
- Focus Group: Episode 11, "The Warmth Episode" (1992). When Artie lets it slip that the network hired a focus group to determine if Larry is likeable, Larry becomes self-conscious and demands that Artie get a focus group for the show. Unfortunately, Larry's so nervous about it that he bombs, and the focus group members only like Hank.
Season 2
- The Magician: Episode 8, "Artie's Gone" (1993). Artie can't make it to work, and Hank thinks he might have to stretch during the show, so he starts practicing his "sleight of hand" from his cruise ship days.
- Monkeying Around: Episode 9, "Larry Loses Interest" (1993). A monkey famous for grabbing Larry's balls in a previous episode makes a return appearance and does the same gag.
- Weird Wedding Venue: Episode 15, "Hank's Wedding" (1993). Hank is getting married, and he asks if he can have the ceremony on the show. With sweeps week coming up, Artie is all for it.
- Homemade Wedding Vows: Episode 15, "Hank's Wedding" (1993). Hank marries his fiance, Margaret, on the show. They wrote their own vows, but Hank is too broken up to read his, so Larry takes over.
- Home Sweet Office: Episode 17, "The Grand Opening" (1993). Hank is getting so busy and stressed out because of the grand opening of his restaurant, Hank's Lookaround Cafe, that he's been sleeping in his office in between angry phone calls with napkin manufacturers.
Season 5
- Catfish: Episode 10, "The Book" (1997). Beverly has been receiving love notes with flowers and chocolates from a secret admirer, and she's convinced it's a handsome network executive named James, so she starts shamelessly flirting with him, but James adamantly denies sending them. Eventually, Brian confesses that he was the secret admirer, and Beverly is enraged that she embarrassed herself in front of James.
